Hero Lager receives award for Igba Boi’s impact on traders – The Sun Nigeria

hero Lager received an appreciation award for his impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) project, “Igba Boi”. The recent award was presented at the All-Markets event organized by Ndigboamaka, the umbrella body of 58 major Igbo market associations and professional groups in Lagos.

Popularly referred to as “O’Mpa”, the deeply cultural and altruistic brand, Hero Lager Igba Boi supports young entrepreneurs who have just graduated after learning the skills of their craft masters. It provides these budding entrepreneurs with training in business skills, mentorship from established professionals and grants to start their professional life as future employers. The award is a further testament to the business community’s appreciation of the impact and lives that Igba Boi has touched.

The Secretary General, Ndigboamaka, Chinedu Ukatu, said: “The ripple effect of Igba Boi in the Igbo business community is immeasurable as so many lives and their families have been touched for good. In the Igbo community, Igba Boi is not seen as just any project by any brand, but like our project by our brand, that’s why we say in Igbo, Hero Lager Bu Nkayi.

The award was presented to Hero Lager by Ndigboamaka Coordinator, Nze Basil Osuokwu, Ohaneze Lagos Secretary, Everest Ozonweke and Women’s Leader, Ndigboamaka, Princess Ada Okekeamam. The award was received by Lagos Regional Events Manager, International Breweries Plc, Leo Onwuegbuzie. For his part, Brand Manager, Hero Lager, Dubem Orji, said, “We thank the Ndiigboamaka organization for selecting Hero Lager for this award.

Last year, one of the Trade Masters, Ben Okoli, whose two apprentices, Chinonso Nowo and Patrick Idika, received checks for N500,000 each, was very happy to see his two apprentices benefit from the Hero initiative Igba Boi.
