(MENAFN-Mid-East.Info) Ajman: The Ajman Center for Social Responsibility (Ajman CSR) – affiliated with the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry – hosted the virtual forum on best practices in of Ajman’s CSR, bringing together representatives of both international and companies.

“We are committed to organizing these specialized conferences to discuss best practices and solutions in sustainable development, facilitating the exchange of experiences and successes of countries and companies in this regard,” said the Managing Director. Ajman CSR, Nasser Nasser Al-Dhafri. The virtual CSR best practice forum shines a light on local and global experiences from the public and private sectors by launching sustainable initiatives that promote social responsibility in communities.

“The Ajman Center for Social Responsibility seeks to provide a platform that offers the necessary guidance on corporate social responsibility, helps to strengthen the positive role that the business sector plays, raises awareness of and promotes social responsibility. a way that ensures the well-being of the community and the sustainability of the economy, ”Al-Dhafri added.

Moderated by Ms. Rita El Haddad, CEO of Quality Matters, the Forum brought together Mr. Majd Fayyad, Senior Advisor at the Royal Danish Consulate General in Dubai, at its first session, where he made a presentation on sustainable practices in Denmark , the means to achieve the Zero Net initiative and the key solutions adopted by the city of Copenhagen, which has established strong partnerships with the private sector to support the initiative. Fayyad described the measures companies need to reduce carbon emissions and effectively contribute to carbon neutrality.

For his part, at the same session, Mr. Gustaf Anselmsson, co-founder and CEO of Gokind in Sweden, highlighted Swedish best practices in social responsibility in the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector, and the measures they are implementing to promote sustainability and the green economy. Anselmsson also explored the theme of innovation in social responsibility and ways to enable SMEs to adopt socially responsible practices.

The second session of the Forum – titled “Sustainability: Concept and Best Practices” – features Mr. Iftikhar Hamdani, Area Director General for Northern Emirates at the Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel, who explained the relationship between human sustainability and the successful implementation of green initiatives that can reduce waste. In addition, Hamdani introduced new and innovative ideas to reduce the daily use of plastic. Also took part in the session Ms. Fatima Humaid Alsuwaidi, Bee’ah Outreach Officer, who spoke about the importance of awareness of the social responsibility of organizations, presenting the initiatives of Bee’ah in this regard.

The third and final session explored how COVID-19 has changed the way corporate social responsibility is implemented. Speaking at the session, Ms. Lina Hourani, Division Manager at Al Ahli Holding Group, discussed the impact COVID-19 has had on the way CSR initiatives are implemented, highlighting new trends important in this regard. For his part, Mr. Chafic Ajour, director of operations at Amina Hospital, highlighted the most notable projects that the hospital had implemented since the start of the pandemic as part of its social responsibility activities. Meanwhile, Ms. Noor Al-Chaghouri, Head of Community Service at Ajman University’s Office of Community Engagement, presented CSR best practices implemented at Ajman University during the COVID-19 pandemic.
