"So, I wanted to ask-"

"Can it wait until all the children are asleep?" Moon grumbled, checking his stash of moondrops. Then he slammed his chest cavity shut and glared at you.“They are my priority right now.”

"Right, right..sorry. Just getting a bit excited about my idea. But I guess it can wait." You put your hands up and backed off.

With a purposefully dramatic sigh, you headed back to the security station to wait for him.

He wondered why you really needed his attention. Usually you were just on your phone whenever he was out, letting him quietly take care of the kids.

At least you weren’t acting as needy as the ones Sun had to deal with nonstop.

After soothing the last child to sleep, he crept over to the station, looming over it. He saw your feet kicked up on the desk as you scribbled away in your notebook.

“They’re all asleep now, what is it?”

Blinking, you looked up at him and smiled, standing up.“Oh! I’m just curious about something.”

“Go on..”

“So uh..how would you and Sun feel about...having separate bodies? Hypothetically speaking?”

He was surprised.“Us? Separated? That would be....”

For a moment he was quiet, staring down at the little Glamrock Freddy case that held your security badge.

What he truly wanted to say was that...having a separate body from Sun would be absolutely freeing for both of them.

Yet he held his tongue. He didn’t wanna get his hopes up.

The Attendant remembered seeing old prototype blueprints for separate forms, though it never came to pass for some reason and instead the company chose to mesh the two animatronics into one.

Probably because they wanted to brag about their“state-of-the-art” technology by showing off an animatronic that can shift between forms.

Neither of them really cared about their “bragging rights”. They just wanted to perform their duties...although it was sometimes difficult and they often wondered about what it would be like to have their own bodies. And just interact with the children on their own and not have to see everything through each other’s eyes all the time.

Even so, Moon’s convinced it’s just wishful thinking. It could only exist in his wildest dreams.

No way would you ever get the approval to change them completely, even if you were a lead mechanic and the daycare assistant.

“It would be nice. But..we’re content like this.” He insisted, though from the way heuncomfortably hugged himself and avoided your gaze while talking, you could tell he felt the exact opposite.

“Hey! What did I say about speaking for me, Moony?? I, for one, like that idea! Don’t lie to [y/n].” Sun complained, but he ignored it.

You frowned a bit, thinking he would’ve been a bit more excited at the prospect.“Are you sure? I mean..there’s a lot of benefits to-”

“No--I mean..we’re not sure, actually. We would love to be our own individuals but..it’s not like it’ll ever happen. We’re already...difficult as is. Why have two of us running around?”

“Because I think it’ll help you guys manage the kids better. I know Sun has his favorites and you have yours. I mean this place is gigantic so..why not?” You reached out to put a hand on his arm.“Moon, look at me.”

His eyes flickered to meet yours.

“Neither of you are“difficult” for me, okay? You guys are like my best friends and..all I want is what’s best for you two.”

“........”

“Awww we’re their best friends!!!”

“Shut it.”

You just sighed.“So what’s your final answer? Yes or no?”

“Y-Yes.” Moon finally stammered out, relaxing his shoulders.“But we aren’t expecting any miracles. So we won’t nag you about it anymore.”

“That’s fine. I just wanted your opinion. Thank you.”

Nodding, he left the station to check on the children. With him gone you were free to open your notebook, looking over the sketches you drew.

Just a concept for their new bodies you were quite happy with. They were almost perfect.

‘Can’t wait to get these bad boys on blueprints..this’ll be a fun project.’
